Author’s Notes

May 20, 2010:

Yes. Let’s see what Ian has to say about this. What a mess he created!

It’s good to eat frosting,

May 13, 2010:

Today is a good day to begin a new story. It’s beautiful outside and we’ve been through a long pull reading Their Deeds Unmistakable and another short-long story about some woman who lost her home. Well, onto two people who have their home and well, they make their mistakes, but…..

You’ll have to read to find out,

May 2, 2010:

I actually was a little tired of this story after posting so many inserts of Their Deeds Unmistakable. Upon second look, it does pick up speed towards the end (which I swear is coming!!). Originally titled The Blue Cut, the brothers do find ways to amend their deeds and finish the story on an interesting and unsettling note.

Hang in there and we will read somthing shorter soon ;)

April 30, 2010:

Had enough yet? This is the longest running story we’ve posted and, yet, it seems like yesterday that we began with just a short beginning to a long, story about Shannon Reed and his cello. It has just to close the main stories and then ruminate about what he did…you know…killed someone. Not just someone, his own brother. Well, we will see what happens, how many sections it takes to finish it and what will be the next story. Maybe something shorter, yes, definitely.

Stay strong,

Very long story which maybe confusing. I will switch around to make sure it does make sense. It will be a very good story, well worth the read.

Hope all is well,

April 16, 2010:

This story runs in its full length and so I will leave it up for the whole weekend. Then you can choose to read at your leisure. Something new on Monday, for sure.

Enjoy Sat & Sun,

Today’s story ends The Kensington Car Boys, hope you liked it. Tomorrow starts another Sasha story. The last time we heard from her she had decided not the to let strangers’ in her apartment for sex. Will she change her mind or really give up “the life”? Should be a good one….

Don’t let “the man” stress you,

April 12, 2010:

Ah, yes the Kensington Car Boys. One of those stories you write while watching a good San Diego Padres game with Jake Peavey pitching. My favorite pitcher, I used to call him “my baseball boyfriend.” He’s with the White Sox now. Should call him to say thanks for inspiring a good story, instead I’ll just dedicate the story to - Jake Peavey.

Wink and a smile,

April 11, 2010:

Very crazy days with the one story that was about a good friendship that lasted during good times over a summer job. In a full length this would make a good memoir, maybe someday. Next weeks will be a long story with much to say about life’s stuff.

Have a great day,

Ever walk up to someone seated in the “the good seats” in the theater and say, “you’re in my seat.” I should’ve used that one in this story, good memories of old times. What were yours?

Take everyone to a movie (separate checks of course),

Today begins the mischievousness of the two loves. Movies and performance art those two loves. More tomorrow, shouldn’t run too long and hope you like it.

Its fiction and not a license to set fires,

My friend didn’t like the mouse becoming real; it was not in keeping with the rest of the story. A mouse that suddenly spoke was her exact comment. Something that could only happen, just before death, was my exact comment. Life does imitate art – changes, changes.

This is happiness,

Funny that a story about a Priest and his friend fell on Easter Sunday, really it is not something I planned. You’ll see after tomorrow’s finale that it was not exactly chocolate and chicks.

Happy Easter Anyway,

April 2, 2010:

You know, a building block of faith was a good call. Well done, Gassett, but I think by the end of the story he’ll have made a lot of good calls. This one is going to go long. Hang in there.

Remember, the day is pregnant with opportunity,

Today begins the doings around the church between Gassett and Father Drury. Their nemesis makes his first appearance today too. He will thrust his little V8 engine on the two of them, as innocent as they both are, and leave tire tracks up their backsides. Stay tuned world.

Thanks for reading A Providence of One. Have I ever remembered to say that?

It’s a revolution in reading (I’m quoting Father Drury),

March 31, 2010:

This begins a very long story about Gassett Punchinello and his life with Father Drury, who makes his appearance tomorrow. It will be a long read, perhaps the longest one to date. Well, well, well worth the and time to get it finished and to read it. Sorry about the length, but nothing else I’m afraid.

Happy Day before April,

Thrill seekers come in all shapes and sizes. This one had a mission, to understand the music from all angles and to avoid any unpleasant panic the night it’s played for all. Hope you got that out of this, I know the story tends to keep information from you; until the last paragraphs. I presented this story to a writing group to very bad reviews. I hope I fixed well enough for it to be better received, now. LMK.

Spring is coming!

March 28, 2010:

Today is the second encounter with the mad violinist the main character sits near in the orchestra. He is quite a “showboat” who likes his own playing. I wonder if she will show him how to play if she gets a chance to solo. Maybe she will just take an unexpected solo of her own! Wait and see, I think this one will get a little “center stage” before it’s done.

Until tomorrow, cool runnings everyone!

Happy 50th story to me!! Some days I didn’t think I’d even get to 20, but there it is. This ones short and sweet, well, in size and shape anyway. I think I’m obsessed with dying or something!

Thanks for reading and stay tuned,

March 25, 2010:

This is a depressing time of the year for me, the anniversary of the passing of my mother. I wrote this as a memorial to her and the last few years of her life, where we lived together. That’s one of the great things about writing. You can pull out old memories by reading something you wrote that reminds you of someone or something, how many things can you say that about?

Great days ahead to all,

March 23, 2010

Today’s story is  nice and short. After such a long one it does seem really short.

I wonder what they did when they got to his apartment?

Cool runnings everyone,

March 23, 2010:

I hope you were alright with the surprise ending. It can be looked at as an easy way to get out of a story that painted me into a corner. I mean her leaving him was inevitable and I like to think she did it when he was in Toronto and without telling him, she was leaving. But that’s my bad side coming out!

The truth is it wasn’t a surprise ending – I think it was an appropriate ending. We needed to know her for a long time, for all time, really and that is what we got. We got to know her through to the end. Hope you liked the story and we will begin another long one next week.

Everyone take care,

CGQ

Does she stay or does she go? The only thing I think is that she too is persistent. Her desire to live a transient life is not just whim for her. But is this “war” better off just in her mind. We all live with shoulda – coulda’s. She could just wait and hash-it-out later as a crisis in mid-life. Now that feels normal!

Tomorrow is the last installment of an almost novella-sized short story. I think I am gonna miss this one. I have a few other stories with the Campbell character taking other forms, less in personality more like a muse for me to use to inspire more writing about a handsome guy. Hope you like those. I believe he’s in the story, No Thank You Not Today. It should be coming up soon.

Well, I’m off to fight wars, only in my mind!
